I am an African-American college student (on somewhat of a budget)with thick color-treated and relaxed hair (I am trying to grow both of the treatments out). Can anyone give me some advice on which store brands of shampoos and conditioners that are good. Also, my hair is breaking a little and is a little hard to work with since I am trying to grow the relaxer out. Also, any advice will be welcomed on what I can do (how to style) my hair until the relaxer grows out.
Hair conditioner by Nutress (Sally Beauty Supply)or Kolestral (also at Sally in a tube). These are super moisturizing. I use them but, my hair is really fine and they tend to weigh it down (but I still use them). They should work for you. Also, Sally puts these on sale all the time so, you can get them at a reasonable price and they last for a long time. Hope this helps.> I am an African-American college student (on somewhat> of a budget)with thick color-treated and relaxed hair> (I am trying to grow both of the treatments out). Thanks, that's very helpful. I have been using Optium shampoo and conditioners for about 4 years. I think I need to try something new because they aren't working now. I have also been using Infusium leave in conditoner for dry and damaged hair. Do you know if that is good or not. Thanks Again
I recently read that Infusium has 'cones in it which lead to brittle hair and breakage. I have noticed that my hair is more brittle after using it for a while. (I think the cones are silicone or dimethicone. I can't remember.)Right now, I cannot think of any other products to recommend but, I'll check my cabinets at home and see if I can think of any other inexpensive products. Hope this helps.
