> When my husband and I moved to New Hampshire I experienced well water for the first time. We have a lot of minerals in our water and it turned everything from the bathtub to our socks rust colored. My hair took the worst beating and became uncustomarily dry, brittle and broken. Before we moved, I had been voted "best hair" at work so this really depressed me. I didn't want to have it cut. First I tried rinsing my hair with spring water which helped a lot with the dryness. But the best move was having a Culligan water filter system installed. The change in the water was incredible. My hair is back to normal and so are my socks.Good luck, Cindy

I have the same problem first I noticed it with my hair and now I get rust-colored stains on some of my clothes! Where does the filter system go? My problem is that I live in an apartment and I don't own the place. Thanks and I'm glad something worked for you!Shannon
Personally, I prefer well or spring water for my hair. When we were on the city water, my hair got dry, brittle, and dull from all the chemicals in it, most notably the chlorine. I started lugging water from my neighbors' well (they were just out of the city limits) to rinse my hair after every shower, or buying bottled distilled water. It really made a huge difference. I'm also very careful to rinse it after I've been in a chlorinated pool, too. The difference in my hair is well worth the effort!
