1920's style?

hi all-ok i don't know whether anyone has any advice for me on this or not but here goes-my layers are tooshort to be pulled back in a low pony tail so i got this idea yesterday when messing with my hair a kind of 1920s stylee thing hair down but like a band around the back of the hair to keep it down but i can't think what to use to keep the back of it down becos i don't want a band around my forehead! i love madonnas hair in the new max factor ads -anyone any ideas?-Dee
