HELP!I have thick sholder length hair. I can't take the heat! There must be a decent shorted hairstyle I can try without looking like a poodle. Did I mention it has natural wave? The shorted I cut it the curlier it gets. HELP, any suggestions would help. I am tired of just putting it in a pony tail.

To Joanna;Depending on your facial shape and whether your ears lie close to your head or protrude, you may be able to go to several different styles. Please post a description of yourself including your overall ht/wt and describe in detail your facial shape/features and I will try to advise you about a new look for you. email if you want.william
> how can you tell which style will suit different> people. my hairs dry thick and frizzy what would suit> me? i would like a shorter styleTo Sarah and all;Believe me this is a great question! I do not posses 'superpowers' to envision what would look best on everyone for sure! However, several years of experience and continued study, does have its advantages from time to time. I only wish it were that easy to properly 'diagnose' the 'best fit' style for everyone. What I am speaking in terms of is a style or styles, that accentuate your best features, and downplay less than perfect features so as to mask or make them much less noticed. This is an ideal situation at best, but, it can really 'wake up' a sleeping beauty. Features to play up are big eyes, facial features and shapes, skintones and most often overlooked is the ears and neckline/neck length (or lack of).All of these features mean absolutly nothing if you don't take into consideration your overall body shape and lifestyle considerations. How many times do you see a makeover model in a full length view vs. a picture from the shoulders up? The thing that is most overlooked by pro stylists and clients is that when a client shows you a picture of someone she wants her hair like, many many times she is really saying 'I want to look like that person!' , but is so dazzled by the rest of the look that she thinks a new style will do the trick, when in reality she does't look anything like her. The best example I can think of is the 'Farrah' do seen on everyone in the late seventies and the 'Rachel' cut of late. If you will post a 'detailed' description of yourself from head to toe and I will try to reccomend a new look for you that will work with your hair and lifestyle.william
