Im half samoan so i have very thick dark hair, but no waves or curls. I love long hair and my hair is almost there but i wouldn't mind some curls just near the end of my hair. Since my hair is so thick i don't have the time nor the energy to sit there and try to put curlers around my head. Also my hair is so heavy that i often have to curl me hair with like 10 strands of hair in each curler. Any Suggestions as to how i could get nice curls fast? i wouldn't mind trying the kind you sleep in but i have no idea what to do or anything. please right me!!! i want to be able to look good for this school year!

for the kind you can sleep in, buy some soft foam curlers.enough for your thick hair. these curlers are usually very inexpensive and available at many drugstores.the trick is to roll your hair with them while your hair is still slightly damp (say, after you shower or bathe, having washed your hair). Roll your damp hair (can use a styling gel or your normal styling aid in your hair, combing it through first) with the curlers sometime before going to bed. In the morning, remove the curlers and you should have nice curls! you may need to style a little bit to get the curls falling just right, but you'll have curly hair.you'll have to try this a few times before you get the curls just right, because they way you roll makes a difference: if you roll more tightly, for example, you'll get tighter curls. A looser roll will give you softer, looser curls. Also, you want to try to roll the curls evenly, making a part in your hair and distributing the curlers in even sections around your head.the good thing about doing this is that it is not harsh on your hair, and you can change the curl type (tighter or looser) any time. the bad thing is that you'll have to do this process every time you wash your hair, if you want the curls everyday. any you may dread anyone seeing you in the morning with curlers in your head :)!hope this helps. silvie

If you wouldn't mind waves instead of curls, you might want to try setting your hair by sleeping in a bun (mist the hair with water or a leave in conditioner first.) This is what I do to even out my hair's normally uneven and unruly waves. It works wonderfully for at least two to three hours, unless it is excessively humid and/or raining. If you want a tighter wave or a curlier look, you might want to try multiple smaller buns. I hope this helps.Erika
