Anybody have any suggestions ( i.e. a leave in conditioner or maybe a hair care ritual ) that will help me combat the effects of the sun and salt water while I'm at the beach surfing ? Thanx in advance.

Aubrey Organics has a Swimmer's Shampoo and Conditioner. These products protect your hair, and they don't have chemicals, silicones, or ANY unnatural ingredients! I personally haven't tried the Swimmer's line, but I have tried other Aubrey products with good results. Also, I think Jade21 tried AO Swimmer's line with good results. Hope this helps. As for home recepies, using jojoba, olive, or coconut oil as leave-in conditioners really improves the condition of the hair (spread only about three drops of the oil through your hair, bigger amounts might make your hair look greasy). I think that if you try these things and use them regularly, you will see a big difference within a couple of weeks (maybe even days!).PD> Anybody have any suggestions ( i.e. a leave in> conditioner or maybe a hair care ritual ) that will> help me combat the effects of the sun and salt water> while I'm at the beach surfing ? A tip that I use.....I take a bottle of my favorite Aveda Beautifying Oil and then I apply it liberally to the middle and ends of my hair. Then I braid my hair and pin it up and pop on a hat. The heat from the sun makes a great "heat unit" which opens my hair cuticle and lets the oil do its thing. When I get home from the beach I wash my hair and condition it with my current Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle and Rose shampoo and conditioner and let it air dry. The results are great.Hope that helps.Best wishes,Karen> Anybody have any suggestions ( i.e. a leave in> conditioner or maybe a hair care ritual ) that will> help me combat the effects of the sun and salt water> while I'm at the beach surfing ? That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-)
