I have read before on this board that Dawn is a major fan of Nature's Gate Chamomile shampoo and conditioner for her hair. You can buy Nature's Gate from Whole Foods right on the net or from several online vitamin stores.Have you seen Dawn's hair jewelry here in the Marketplace? I personally love her Zuni Bear hairsticks.> Hi!> I must say your hair looks very beautiful!! Thanks so much Eva, thats very nice of you! Carla is absolutely right (thanks Carla!) I've been using Natures Gate products for longer than I can remember and they have been really good to my hair. I switch around between Chamomile, Keratin, Jojoba and others, Aloe, etc. and I've never had any buildup or problems with the shampoos not working. I would certainly recommend them and they are so inexpensive that you can try them all to find which best suits your hair. My own hair has never been dyed or highlighted and it is super stick straight, very fine. I never cut my hair (23 years now!) and I've been looking for a long time for a great ends oil and deep conditioner with all natural ingredients. (I used to use St. Ives mud packs and hot oil, but they've got too much alcohol and other drying ingredients so for some time now I've just been double conditioning when I shampoo, using whatever variety I'm into then finishing off with a glop of jojoba conditioner at the end) But I've started using Naturalengths products, their super fragrant healing ends oil and the really thick coconut conditioner for extra care of my ends (well actually the last two feet or so of hair)and I have to say I would highly recommend them too, they have my ends feeling great. I shampoo and conditioner about every other day and I rub a bit of oil on just about every night. When I'm going to wash my hair I put the conditioner on a couple hours beforehand and it does a wonderful job. Higher priced than say, a NG, but they go a long, long way and are well worth it. (You can find Naturalengths over at longhairlovers.com)Good luck with your own hair, whatever its length, just baby it, condition, condition, condition and it will respond as well.Very best wishes to all,Dawn> Hi!> I must say your hair looks very beautiful!! Hi Dawn,> I've been using> Natures Gate products for longer than I can remember> and they have been really good to my hair. I would certainly> recommend them and they are so inexpensive that you> can try them all to find which best suits your hair.I've been thinking about trying Nature's Gate products myself, since I've heard so many good things about them, and because I looked at the ingredents on the bottles of a few of their conditioners and they all seemed to have oil in them, which works very well for my hair. (In fact, I've never gotten really good results with conditioners that didn't feature vegetable oils of some type.) They are also in my price range. Since you've been using NG products for so long, I'd like to know which one you'd reccommend for my hair. It is either wavy or loosely curly. (I wish that I could give you a more objective description of texture, but my hair doesn't fit neatly into any of the Andre catagories, or anything like that. In fact, it could be argued that it doesn't fit neatly into much of anything once I walk outside.) To give you a better description, my hair was curly when it was shorter, but I think that the weight has pulled some of it out. (If I hold up a single hair, the bottom 6 to 8 in. are in a ringlet, which gradually loosens to a wave as it nears the roots.) It is fine in texture, and thick enough that the fine texture isn't obvious unless you look closely at it (but it doesn't look "thick," it looks to be of average thickness.) It is long (4 to 5 in. past my waist.) And, it is dark blonde at the roots and medium blonde for most of the length. I use olive oil soaks for deep conditioning and jojoba oil on the dry parts. (ends and former bangs.) Thanks.Erika

Hi Dawn,I have very fine hair and you said you have fine hair too. Does NaturaLengths weigh your hair down or make it flat? I wanted to try it out, but I was afraid that it would undo what Aubrey Organics did to make my hair look a bit thicker.> and the really thick coconut> conditioner for extra care of my ends (well actually> the last two feet or so of hair)Don't they have a coconut shampoo as well? I didn't see the coconut conditioner. Which NL products do you like best (have you tried all of them?). Did you have problems with build-up? I know this is a lot of questions, but I am very curious about this product and you seem like someone who would have the answers. Thanks,PD

Hi Erika! You are so lucky. My husband has those same glorious ringlet kind of curls as you and they are so very cool. You might like the jojoba very much, it allows the hubbies ringlets to fall really nicely and they're very soft. The keratin is a great conditioner too, leaves the hair very smooth. My boys often use the aloe, especially when they've been particularly brutal on their hair (dirt and grime) and it makes my one boys very thick hair feel wonderfully silky. You might also really like Naturalengths hair oil for your ends (it has jojoba, almond and avocado oils and is very rich, a little goes a long way)it would really make your ringlets spiral. I'm now switching between deep intense conditioning with the Naturalengths and regular days with the Natures Gate and my hair has never felt better. The awapuhi NG will make your hair super fluffy and the chamomile is great for blond hair. I'd say start with the jojoba and work your way through the others as the mood strikes you! There are so many to choose from you may like something completely different than what I prefer.Good luck with your experimenting!Very best wishes to all,Dawn> Hi Dawn,> I've been thinking about trying Nature's Gate products> myself, since I've heard so many good things about> them, and because I looked at the ingredents on the> bottles of a few of their conditioners and they all> seemed to have oil in them, which works very well for> my hair. Hi there PD!Oh yes, I have quite fine hair so I can empathize with you! I've tried the Naturalengths shampoo, conditioner and hair ends oil and thought they were all great. (I don't know how I lived without the hair ends oil, I am pleased to have found it.) I'm looking forward to trying the new shampoo they're coming out with, its supposed to be even richer and more like traditional goopy shampoos. The conditioner is VERY thick and moisturizing and so I've been alternating between one use of Naturalengths to one use of Natures Gate. That seems to cut nicely through any residual affects of the rich oils in the Naturalengths and leaves my hair very fluffy and nice looking. Its like getting a deep conditioning every other shampoo and that is really working well for me. To further combat any flatness I only shampoo my hair about to the shoulders, and I only condition from the neck on down. That leaves the top nice and fluffy looking. I also always brush my hair sort of off to the side, up and out (though not upside down, I find that leaves me with tangle problems) and that makes a lovely little sort of swoop at the hairline that adds extra volume. With knee length hair though, lack of volume at the top is really just inevitable so I almost always use some kind of hair accessory to create a poof around the face and a bit of added volume.Hope that helps a little. Good luck with your experimenting too! I think you would be very pleased with the NL products, they are quite nice and I've found that I use much less of them than with NG.Very best wishes to all,Dawn> Hi Dawn,> I have very fine hair and you said you have fine hair> too.
