I take hair vitamins, and feel they are very helpful for strong, healthy hair growth.I think Vitamin C is excellent for overall health, but the vitamins you'll most often hear as promoting hair growth include: biotin, B-12,pantothenic acid, zinc. brewer's yeast is also sometimes used. While you can buy these items separately, I think for price and overall effectiveness, you're better off taking a pre-packaged multi-vitamin combo.Personally, I *really* like the HairFormula 37 formula that is available on this site, through their marketplace. Since taking them, my hair now grows more like 1/2 to 3/4" per month, and before it was only about 1/4" per month. The HF 37 formula consists of two bottles--step one and step two. Step One is a vitamin/mineral combination, with lots of niacin. Step Two is an amino acid complex (the building blocks of protein, and consequently, hair).
