Okay colored my hair about 3 months ago. I can't say i loved the color but its not too bad...its a orangy-reddy color. My natural hair color is medium/dark brown. The roots are starting to show about an inch. Right now you can't really tell but i'm just scared about how my hairs going to look after 2 or 3 more months. I'm going to have like one half of my hair one color and the rest another. Is that going to look that bad? Cuz i really want to grow out my hair until i have my natural hair color back.
I had a similar experience a few years ago. I used to dye my hair platinum blonde for years, and then I wanted to see what the original color was. I let the roots grow out a bit (about an inch or so), and then I dyed my hair as close to my natural color as I could. I got help from a professional on the color, by the way. I wouldn't recommend trying to match colors by yourself, unless you know what you're doing! Then, even if you're off a little on the color, as your hair grows out your roots won't be as obvious. Good luck!Shell
hii agree with Shellunless you're willing to chop off a lot of your reddish hair (and i bet you're not :)) then the next option is to try and match up the colored part with the new growth. the important thing to keep in mind is that the colored area is porous from the previous coloring, and will therefore absorb a lot more color more quickly, becoming dark easily unless you choose the right shade. you will need to use something a bot lighter than you'd expect, to see results that are not too dark.I recommend you read william's excellent article on this web site before you color. this will give you some tips on whether to choose something gold vs. ash, for example.better yet, let a professional do the color for you. this is a tricky process, to match up the color correctly, so it would be worth the extra $ to get it done right.good luck :) silvie
