I hate having to wash my hair everyday but if I don't I find it gets very oily on top. Is there any way to prolong washing my hair everyday and not having it get that oily. My hair gets very dry from overwashing and blow drying. Please help !!!

Please help !!!I used to have the same problem...what I found to help may actually seem counter-indicative....it seems that frequent shampooing actually stimulates oil production BECAUSE it dries out your hair. Which results in the combination of problems (ie. oily scalp and dry ends).Try doing some hot oil treatments for your ends and going to washing your hair every other day or every third. Wet your hair when you shower and work your fingers through your hair, as though you were rinsing out shampoo (this will help to draw the oils down to the ends of your hair, and should keep it from looking oily).Be warned- your hair will not look great the first couple of days doing this, so start on a weekend or when you have a couple of days where you don't have to look your best. Your hair (nor mine, nor anyone else's, for that matter) didn't get this way over-night and you can expect it to take some time to get back to looking healthy.Good luck!

Depends on where you live too.If you live in a humid and polluted country you don't have much of a choice. The shampoos that work for me are still daily shampoos and my hair is not overoily or dry.I like Aveda's Shampure,Rosemary Mint and Blue Valva.

If the oiliness isn't that bad, say just around your face or temples, you might want to try using a little witch hazel on the oily parts. This is what I do on days when the hair around my hairline gets oily before the rest of my scalp (this happens a lot, especially if my skin is oilier than usual.) ( I have oily skin but normal hair, and I think that the extra oil is from my face.) I normally wash my hair only every other day. I hope this helps.Erika> I hate having to wash my hair everyday but if I don't> I find it gets very oily on top.
