I use it for any deposit color applications and toning previously lightened hair. Your Redken distributor has a very informative brochure/catalog using many of Beth Minardi's formulas and advice. I strongly reccomend that you secure one of these brochures and study up on the application techniques it contains. I think that you will find it is the best on the market for what it is intended to be and is very versitle in its ability to be intermixed totally.good luckwilliam
