I have naturally curly hair that I have highlighted about three times in the past year. Anyways it was getting to the point where I had about four different tones in it plus a lot of root growth. I have naturally brown hair with blonde highlights, so I was highlighting my hair blonde. Well I thought it was getting a little brassy in some parts so I dyed it all one colour. I dyed my hair back to medium brown but with all my blonde in my hair before it's quite a shock. It's been a week and everyone at work likes it my husband likes it, and one of my girlfriends just says it looks the same with out the orange and blonde in it. But I don't like the fact that in some lighting it has red highlights. When the roots start growing in the natural highlights will be blonde. Any suggestions on what color to dye my hair in six weeks. Does color lift color if I pick a dark blonde will that get rid of the red and match my hair color better. Or will my hair go a greeny tinge because it will be porous. I used Feria #58 medium golden brown.

hii have almost the identical natural color as you and also have highlights. because i've colored my hair red in the past, i also can get red undertones. the way to avoid this is to go with ASH colors when doing any coloring. Keep in mind that gold also accentuates red undertones. For a great explanation of hair coloring chemistry (which explains all this much better than i can) please see william's excellent article on hair coloringhttp://www.hairboutique.com/tips/tip095.htm:) silvie
