I am thinking about participating in a Redken sponsored hair show this next weekend. Does anyone have any opinions on this. I am looking for a new cut but am worried that they will just butcher my long, fine, curly hair.Has anyone done this type of thing?
I have done a number of hair shows and can tell you: this is not to be confused with your normal visit to the salon.Unless you establish rules with the stylist ahead of time (and even that is no 100% guarantee), he/she may do something pretty dramatic with your hair. The whole nature of the hair show is, as the name implies, theatrical. They do take long hair and whack it off! this does not mean you will get a bad cut, but you may not get what you bargained for. I did a show (Vidal Sasson) and they gave me something that looked like a Ronald Reagan hair style ! not kidding. i have a round face. they also dyed it black. I looked horrible. I have also done other hair shows where they are more respectful and will not do something drastic. Please be forewarned that hair shows are really not for the faint of heart. Make sure you have a solid conversation with the stylist before he or she does anything. If they dont seem to respect your wishes, just leave.good luck:) silvie
