QuoteReplyTopic: Loreal Haircolor for asian hair - must read this , Karen and the rest of the people who knows a lot about hair. Posted: August 13 2004 at 4:01am
Ok, I dunno if the US market has this, but in Malaysia and most other easter countries, Loreal has these lined of hair dyes made for dark asian hair. According to the box, hair chart, black asian hair can be coloured into bright reds, purple, copper, orange, and bronze. No bleach needed There is also another line of golden shaded, that claims to give you this intense golden brown, copper, ash shades with out hte use of bleach. Also loreal Japan has this new Tokyo blonde shaded, where asian with black or dark brown hair can get these bright blonded shaded with out the bleaching process. So what do you people think??

I think this new one-step process is a great idea. Personally I don't dye my hair and aren't looking to... but I'd definitely use it if I needed to. This new product takes out one harsh chemical step, decreasing exposure time to chemicals--slightly easier on your hair. Cool...
IMHO those dyes work well on unprocessed, virgin hair, not on hair that's already dyed or colored in the past. If you already have dyed hair, then it's not recommended to use those unless used on virgin roots only. That's why they're made for dark hair only. I've heard some good reviews on HiColor (prolly similar to what you mentioned) on some asians esp. the red shades. But the so called blondes don't really end up that well on asian hair, only makes it orangey at best unless you like that way.
I think when i was in malaysia i got some of this stuff n it didn't work at all. my hair remained black. I'm lookin to get a brown or maybe red colour. Has anybody actually seen this work? I'm in the UK right now so is it the Feria 3d or hicolour range i'm looking for?

It did not work?????? Hmmm it was supposed to work if you have unprocessed hair. Maybe you mixed it worng, because although i havent bought the Loreal Line yet hair coluring kits are not supposed to be fail proof. Unless you choose a normal loreal shade of blonde, when applied to black hair, nothing happens.
