This is truly sickening. No one is "black," and everyone of African descent does NOT have curly hair.

Anyway, I can't help you here. Maybe just try accepting what you have..I went through a period where I wanted to straighten my hair to spike it, but I quit that. If there's a way to spike it while leaving my hair curly, I'll do it, but I'm just accepting what God gave me now.

An afro do not always require styling, that only depends if you want it stretched to make it bigger or round, afros come in all shapes and sizes, our hair shrinks so we can have a small fro, it can be perfectly round or it can be chunky. None of that requires styling. I wear a fro on the regular and other people who do as well and we do not have to style it, unless that is how you want it.
Either way our hair grows upward and outward, that is a fro.

A Blow out kit is a mild texturizer that was used to make the fro look bigger because the curl was semi straightened. I don't think a blow out kit will work on straight hair since it was to loosen a curl pattern.

If you want an afro you should get a blowout comb
repeat get a blow out kit that is how the 70s afros were made....ya blackpeople have curly hair so it will sort of grow that way but the hairstyle did reuire some styling on there part.
Afro is a style not a situation.

Cmsweet and A.I. have stated it very succinctly:

(1) Afros work best on black folks because they have naturally kinky hair. It's the shape of the hair follicle that determines the wave form of the hair. A genetic, racial thing. A perm will get you close, but no cigar.
(2) Not washing your hair will lead to the OPPOSITE of an afro. :) :) :) :)

Yeah, not washing your hair won't give you an Afro, but it will make your scalp feel really greasy. I recommend getting a perm like they've said and using a pik to brush it out. That's probably the closest to an afro that you'll get. Africans just normally have the texture of hair for an afro, and Asians usually don't.

What do you mean real talk? It is a real question that I am asking? I keep reading that people who are not of African descent or do not have curly hair wants to have an afro. I would like to know why everyone says they stop washing their hair to get an afro. This is REAL TALK, I would like to be informed just as someone who wants to know how to get an afro wants to be informed about how to achieve one.

Are you not washing your hair to TRY and get the texture of black people hair. I wash my quite often, and our afro grows that way naturally. So i can't tell you how to get one but a perm will be the closes to it.

I understand what dipset mean because we wash our hair. People have been misinformed and think we don't.

black ppl dont hav afros bcos there hair is dirty so not washing it wil make NO difference and is quite insulting to cliam that black afros are because of dirty hair.
