Now that you've already colored your hair once, it is anyone's guess what you will get if you try to color over it, especially with intense/unnatural colors like you're talking about. I strongly recommend going to the salon. Otherwise, you may end up back here writing in the bloopers section.
You mentioned on another thread that you're beginning high school in September and that you want to look your very best for that. So I think you should be very careful about using dyes on your hair at this point. If you must, please go to a professional. I know it's expensive, but if cost is an issue, perhaps you could find a way to fund it--like offering to do some work at home, or babysitting.
