blonde to red- plz help!!

I dont know if anyone can help i had a hair diesarster last week,basically i applied a colour to my hair,the product turned out to be fauilty,anyways after 5 secs on this being on my hair my hair had a green tint to it,so 2 days after that i went to a hairdresser where thay put a semi on my hair,it hasnt really covered it at all,and also i now have short hair i only told them to take an itch of lol my hair used to be lovely and long,anyways what i would like to do now is to dye my hair red so hopefully it will cover up the green in my hair,i was just wondering if it was ok if i do this, the make i am using is loreal feria the colour is pure spice power number p76,thanks very much for ur help harmony
