QuoteReplyTopic: Semi-Perm rules? Posted: April 08 2004 at 1:08pm
As far as I know semi-permenant dyes won't lighten your hair. How is it then, when I visit Clairol's website, they say you can use a lighter color than your natural? And I've also heard elsewhere that you can use it to blend roots to help your dye job last longer. What would happen if a light brown/dark blonde used a blonde semi-perm color?
Anyone have insite on this topic?

Would it really even show up if you put blonde semi-perm on dark hair? Maybe if you got it slightly lighter than your natural shade, it might work, but I'm not even sure about that-- I have a friend with dark-brown hair who complains how semi-perm never shows up well on her. You can't make a very drastic change on dark hair without permanent dye.
