I noticed that when I dye my roots and it starts growing out that the inch or so I lightened doesn't match the rest of my hair. In the right light you can see a faint difference.
I'm assuming that I'm not leaving the dye on as long as I did for the rest of it, even though I timed it the same...
Soon I'm going to be retouching roots for the second time with my current color. I really like this color and plan on keeping it for a while, so I'm getting worried about what's going to happen when it grows out and I have all these different shades and pretty much horizontal stripes on my hair...
Help!!

A lot of times, the same thing happens when I do touch-ups on my hair, too. I figured if it wasn't enough for the average person to see and notice, I wouldn't worry. I'm not sure why it happens or if anything can be done about it.
