Hi, I'm thinking about going red, and I've got blue-grey/green eyes with light skn that's not really pink but not tan either. Thinking about it I'd like to do the Hilary Duff (w/o the bangs)cut with curly (permed) red hair. Anyway I'm not sure how it's gonna come out... Should I perm my hair first then dye it red or the other way around?
Thanks!

My aunt used to say that you can perm your hair or you can dye your hair, but you can't do both. You didn't say what your natural hair color, but it has to be light brown or blonde for the following idea to work: Get your hair permed, wait a week, and dye your hair with a semi-permanent red. If you dye first, the perm will fade your color. I don't know if using a permanent color would harm your perm, but it would certainly do a number on your hair.

You're right about my hair, it's somewhere between dishwater blonde and a color I can't distinguish. I'm going to use I think it's level two permance (washes out completely in like three months but leaves a light tint). I've dyed my hair different levels of blonde many many times and I'm flat out tired of the color, the red that I'm using is kinda a cool color because when I'm done with it its pretty dark and personally it looks better than my natural hair color. Everyone says that I look good in golden blonde tones but it makes me look like everyone else and it doesn't highlight my looks in my opinon.
Any chance you would want to roll your hair to curl it every night instead of perming? Perms damage hair so much, if you like changing colors it really would be better if you didn't have one.
Also, have you had a perm before with good results? Some people's hair (like mine) do not hold perms at all for more than a couple of days, so you get a lot of damage just for it to fall back straight again. If you have had one before with good results, nevermind this.
