I have a couple of questions- I have dark features (dark eyes and lighter chocolate brunette hair but pale skin) and I want to know whether I should aim for lighter blonde or darker blonde.

1. How long should you leave bleach in?
2. Can you bleach and then dye the next day?
3. Will I get balding or thinning? My hair is sorta already normally thin.
4. Do you reccamend Born Blonde Maxi bleach for me?

If you have additional info for me, please email me at cokoxx@yahoo.com.

A good way to decide on what shade and tone of blonde you want is to try on some wigs that are close to the color you are considering and then go from there, or, you could use one of those 'try-it-on' sites that let you upload a pic of yourself and try different haircolors/hairstyles. I believe there is one on the Clairol website that does this.

1. You can only tell how long to leave bleach in by doing a test strand; everyone's hair is different. :)
2. You can bleach and then tone in the same day. If you're planning on using regular box haircolor to tone, the higher level of developer could damage your hair more. Waiting a day isn't going to make a difference; hair doesn't repair itself, although if your scalp is sensitive you may want to wait so that your natural oils will build up and help protect it.
3. You will only get balding if you leave the bleach on so long that you chemically burn your hair off, and it's possible you could get some thinning due to hair breaking off from damage.
4. I have never gotten light enough results from any of the Born Blonde line of bleaches, but YMMV. You could always test strand it to see.
