the shrinkies sound really cool- has anyone had them slide out or are they in good? how long would they last? same as bonded hair? if they come out with heat would blow drying affect them? do you wash and care for them like normal bonds? i am really tempted to try them and come them to great lengths...i am just really concerned about them sliding out...any thoughts?

I have had shrinkies going on 5 weeks now. I just did a maintenance last night. In 4 weeks I lost a total of 6 bonds. With all of them, the shrinkie was still in my hair but the hair extension slipped out. All the ones that came out were from the back where I fiddle with them the most. And since I put them in myself, I'm sure my application was not as good as the front and the sides (where I have lost none.)

Sometimes the shrinkie slips down just like a regular microring. I certainly have a couple that are down an inch or more and my hair doesn't grow that fast in a month. I also take the liberty of conditioning my entire head even around the shrinkie placement. They say that's a no no with any hair extension but I don't care. I'm not going without conditioners. I use Loma Pearatin shampoos and also Bed Head Control Freak. So there's a non-sulfate shampoo and one with sulfates. They both work great.

Heat from the blow dryer does not affect the shrinkies from what I've experienced. I mean, considering the heat needed to apply them, chances are you'll never be able to stand the temperature on your scalp by the time it may start tweaking the shrinkie out of shape.

The application is the same as microrings but instead of clamping around your hair with pliers, touch the heat wand around the shrinkie and then roll it with your thumb and forefinger. Within seconds, the shrinkie hardens like a little grain of rice and they are next to impossible to see.

Yes, you can use Great Lengths hair or any pre-tipped hair you want. You'll have to deal with the glue from those tips, however. I personally make my own pre-tipped and no hair glue whatsoever gets in my hair. I only have to deal with the shrinkie coating itself which comes off with a small amount of vegetable oil.

Hope this helps!

thanks for the quick reply i can not wit to try some they sound sooo neat! my only question left is the hair has to be pretipped? right? like the pretipped hair used with microrings? is it so it slides in the shrinkies easier or so that they stay together? thanks
