Hi...
I've been lurking here for several weeks, trying to figure out just what to do with this hair of mine!

I want extensions, but have now, thanks to all the postings here that have terrified me to lose my own hair!, decided to start with the clip-ins to see if I even like it. I have short hair and am wondering something...

Once the extension goes in close to the scalp, isn't the hair underneath (the natural hair) going to either stick out or be somewhat visible, i.e. not completely blended in?

Thanks for your input.
And also, thank you so much for this board as it has helped me make informed decions.

Clips are really easy to try. You can get them at a local Beauty Supply store for $1.00.

My sugesstion is to buy a couple, buy some cheap hair, sew the clips on and experiment and see if it's for you.

I know someone who wore them and they looked fabulous. the clips stayed in place that she wore them for a week at a time.

Thank you for your response.
I actually have already had an appointment with a lady who is going to order me human hair ones, which are what I really want. I definitely prefer to get the better quality so that they last longer and simply look more real in my hair.

I am going tonight to try on some Swedish Blonde samples that she got in today, trying to stay close to my hair color (which she's going to have to color anyway!) and I am SO excited!

I'm happy to hear that they are able to be worn for more than one day.

I was just really concerned about the blending factor and I suppose that after trying them on tonight I'll have that question somewhat answered. It'd be nice to be able to have the whole head in before ordering, but I guess a few will be better than none.

Thanks again...

Well your hair shouldn't stick out. They'll part your hair and clip the clips in.

I was saying use the cheap hair to just try it and see if you liked it before you invested a large sum of money because those clips made by wigmakers are pricey.

I would never suggest to wear cheap hair for a long period of time but since you have an appointment already you should be okay.

Oh GOD! I went last night and she put in a few wefts and it is going to absolutely goregous! I am so excited for Tuesday, which is when she'll have them all made and ready for me.

She ordered the 18" blonde human hair and it was incredible how perfectly it matched my hair - I was shocked!

I'll be reading posts here, keeping informed, and if I decide to maybe sew or braid them in I'm sure you'll be hearing from me. :)

Regards,
~k

Congrats Moonwillow! Keep us updated on how it turns out. Clips are an easy, safe and quick way to change your look.

You might also like falls. They're like partial wigs. They're also called quickweaves. They're easy and fun also.

Good luck.
