just ordered shrinkies

You can SO use that hair without throwing it away. There is no reason to toss perfectly good hair when you can put it right back in yourself.

Have fun with the shrinkies. The great part is that you can put them in and take them right back out anytime you want.

If you want, first test one on the tip of a strand so you can get the look and feel of how the shrinkie responds.

You'll notice just a couple light taps around the shrinkie will start to shrink it down. I'd guesstimate about a full 5 seconds of firmly pressing it will shrink it tightly around the stand. When it's still warm, roll it between the thumb and forefinger. It will immediately cool down in a second or two.

When it's time to take it out, close the wand just above the placement of the shrinkie or directly on it and let it warm up. The shrinkie's shape will distort (it will not "open" back up) and you slide it right down the hair shaft. You will have residue on your hair from the shrinkie and a little vegetable oil on a cotton square will take it right off.

If I plan on putting a shrinkie right back in the same spot, I don't clean the residue off, I just put a shrinkie right back over the same strand.
