QuoteReplyTopic: short hair and extensions Posted: December 15 2004 at 9:53am
Hi, I had my clip-ins done last night and I have a few questions. The hair is 18" blonde human hair and it seems to be nice, but I am really not an expert at hair typing.
First, The clips are great, I love it that they are removeable and are not damaging to my hair. However, I have shortish hair (like 5 inches long at the crown) and when the clips are in, it looks like I have this long pice of hair in the back (the extensions), but much shorter at the top. I'm not really diggin' it....I feel like a mullet head! Then, I feel like I can really only wear it behind my ears because the hair there is short (2-3 inches) and it shows! So I tuck it behind my ears and it looks really cute, but I'd like to have options.
What is the solution to all this? I know this can't be the only thing I can do. Plus, I don't know if she gave me enough hair - maybe I need more for the sides to allow me to wear it down and not only behind my ears. But, I don't want the wefts to show if I put the hair too high up on my scalp. Also, is coverage any better if I had spent $1000 bucks and had them glued in?
Thanks for any help.. ~kristine

Just buy some more hair, buy some clips for a dollar and play around with it until you get the look you desire.
Clips are the easiest and cheapest extension method to do yourself. If you can't get it to look how you want then try another method.
The coverage depends on how you put them in. With those pre made clip sets you can only work with what you get. So you'll have to play around with them to get the look you want. 5" sounds like it's long enough to hide the track.

Actually, the girl made them special just for me. She sewed the clips onto the wefts and gave me more of the longer pieces and none of the small, 1 clip pieces because I really didn't think I needed them.
She has more hair and I think last night she realized I need some more. Not alot, becuse I don't want it overdone, but enough to have it done properly.
