The classes so we can maintain our own extensions is GREAT!

Wanna'''' learn hairlocs? THE EASIEST!

My extensionist, who lives in Brasil, is in L.A. RIGHT NOW and gives instruction AND TOOLS and EVERYTHING you need to to do Hairlocs. Cost of individual instruction, practice on her head, practice on yours, practice making individual extensions, learning who sells what: ONLY $100. YOU SHOULD SEE HOW MUCH HAIR SHE GIVES YA! DOESN"T WATCH THE CLOCK. We spent 2 hours. I "mastered" Hairlocs in 15 minutes.

She''''s only in the country until the end of this month or so. Good luck calling her. NOW WE CAN START MAKING, not just saving, MONEY! (Oh, yeah, her e-mail is easter.carrillo@att.net!)

No offense, Stephannie, but I've been seeing a lot of posts about Easter lately. I don't know her and have never worked with her, but the impression I get is that she does not, in fact, do hairlocs; she does a loc-ing method that's similar to hairlocs. You may want to make that distinction, since (especially on this board) there are many people who aren't too happy with hairlocs right now.

If Easter uses a loc-ing method, cool. But let us know if they're copper (hairlocs are, and they have caused tarnishing), and whether slipping and breakage are a problem (this has been widely cited with the hairlocs technique). If she was with hairlocs and decided to go out on her own, why? Someone else said she "trained" under Kimarie. How is her method any different?

Again, I don't mean to offend you at all, but I think it would be helpful if you could post some more specific information about the techniques, supplies, and hair Easter uses.

Jenn,
You're absolutely right - Easter has modified the Hairlocs method so much, it ISN"T fair to refer to it as that. Especially in light of the fact that Hairlocs is getting a bad rap.

She uses Giovanni & Sons European Hair, not Hairlocs hair. She makes her individuals and Steve/Lisa/skilled employee at Giovanni's make the hand tie wefts. They are very sturdy. Again, like you said, I should have said Easter does a "locking method".

Although she likes the Hairlocs copper shells, she got these "shells"/"locs" manufactured for her in Brazil. So, you're right again. SHE's not doing "hairlocs" - maybe EasterLocs - but I see the error of my ways. Thanks for damage control and correcting me before I hurt her reputation.
O..K., Easter wanted a larger opening. She does a lot of women with cancer or undergoing chemo. With a larger hole, she can put a large amount of a hair than couldn't fit in a hair locs shell. And the locks are light, like aluminum, not like copper, so there's no combined damage effect of the weight of the larger amount of hair Plus a larger shell.

All in all, I shouldn't go sounding off like an extension expert, around people that know the busines of hair, so thanks again for your constructive, yet kindly put, criticism.

Feliz navidad,
Stephannie

OK, cool. Again, I didn't mean to offend you; I just wanted to clarify things.

I think a lot of loc-ers are switching to aluminum or other metals now, because of the tarnishing with the copper. Some of these "alternative" locs contain nickel, which is generally fine, unless someone has a nickel allery (so anyone who's allergic should check with their extensionist or supplier first).

I think I've heard of Giovanni & Sons before (not sure where); are they an LA-based hair supplier?

You might want to advise Easter to return phone calls. I called her when I found one of your posts like 2 weeks ago. I left a message (with my number), as I was REALLY interested especially since she was less expensive than what I'd been hearing. But she never called me back. I'm going with a different extension provider now. I'm a gold mine, since I plan on keeping my extensions going until my hair grows another foot or so. That and all my friends wear some kind of weave/extensions. So if they like what I get, they will get them as well. Just a piece of advice.
