Does sweating irritate them? I can't imagine its *good* for them... Wouldn't there be inherent damage from putting your hair up, too?

I had micro rings in and exercised 3 times a week. I put my hair in a pony tail.

The problem isnt with the excercising, its with washing them. Your not supposed to wash extensions more than a few times a week so washing them everyday after exercising would be damaging to them.

Ewwwwwww - I work out 5 days a week, so all that buildup I think would be gross and smelly. What are others' experiences?

I think it depends on the method you're using, but you would need to wash your hair more frequently, and that could shorten the life of the extensions.

You can put your hair in a ponytail, but the higher it is, the more stress it'll put on the bonds (or locs, rings, braids, whatever), so the lower, the better.

I'll be putting in shrinkies with pretipped silky straight bohyme. OK, a low ponytail is doable!

Yeah, I don't think you'll have problems. Just use your best judgment.

Good luck!

When I t ake a shower, I try to tie my extensions back and then take a plastic bag around them, think of a broken leg in a cast. I can usually wash, rinse my real hair with miminum contact with the extensions. I run everyday, and use a sweat band around my hair - which helps a little - looks stupid as #*^* but, it seems to help with the issue of washing.

I have been wearing extensions (almost tried everything out there) for 12 years and I also am a stylist who does them on clients.

Anyway, I work out daily and wash my hair daily, as do most of my clients. There has not been any problems with the hair.

Just use a good moisturizing conditioner. I like Biolage Ultra Hydrating shampoo and conditioner.

Washing daily should not be a problem.
