i was wondering the same thing!!!!! and from the USA. you would think that this would be information that would be known by now. hmmmmm. can anybody tell me where to get it???
Hair from the U.S.A.? From a real, live American woman? Good luck! I don't think it exists, really. Although there are these creepy ponytails on ebay....
At this point, everyone's "ethnic" in America in some regard or another anyway, so I'm not sure I would see the advantage in getting USA hair--I don't even know what it would mean, really.... There's Asian-American, Italian-American, Irish-American, African-American, Latino.... Quite a diversity of hair here, really.... :)
you know what happened,i was reading one of the old replys on the site that said something about her stylist getting caucasion hair from the US and i freaked i guess. i never heard of it. i must have hit the wrong icon and started a new thread. sorry. thats why it came from left feild.
noooooo! i am so not the diva!!! just new to the site and quite amazed!! i work in the film industry and my dear friend gave me this link to check out.WOW. anyway,i was noticing that great lengths was getting a bad wrap. do you think it could be because of the application?my experience with it has been wonderful. the quality of the hair seems to be amazing.although, after reading how much experience people have on this site,i wonder if i know anything at all! anybody know of better human hair??
I agree with you that the Great Lengths hair is top-notch. I think it's overpriced, but I would imagine that depends on how much your stylist is charging you for it. I paid $1200 for 200 strands of 24 inch, and imo, that hair was probably worth about $700 tops. But again, the hair is very good. Imo, the Cuticle Hair from hisandher.com is comparable (even a bit better), and you'd probably be able to get a good amount of it for about $700 or $800. That hair isn't prebonded, though.
Imo, the difference between the premium hair (like hisandher cuticle, GLs) and the more affordable brands (like Bohyme, Sepia, Cinderella) is largely a matter of thickness. The cheaper brands are significantly thinner hair, they tangle somewhat more, and the break/the ends split more easily, and hence, they don't last as long. Frankly, they feel like they've been totally stripped to me--the hair just doesn't feel as strong.
That said, you can buy many batches of the cheaper stuff for what one batch of the more expensive stuff would cost, so I'm not sure it makes sense to get the more expensive hair. Especially since GLs says you can't reuse the hair (although you actually can, if you retip/rebond the hair), $1200 or so is way too much to spend on hair for each application.
My biggest problem with GLs (aside from the price) is the application method. I don't like pretipped fusion (or any fusion). Period. Depending on your hair time, it can be very damaging. I also think the GLs bonds are a bit more noticable than some other fusion bonds, but many stylists simply cut those bonds down to size, which seems to work. Anyway, if fusion works for you and doesn't damage your hair, and if you don't mind the price, again, the GLs hair itself is very nice, so you may want to stick with it. Otherwise, for similar quality, you might want to try hisandher Cuticle; I've also heard that Extensions Plus in LA has really nice hair, too.
