i tried with jsut one to practice and put it in and it was really easy but when i came to take it out i couldnt it took me agesss. do u think it is just about more practice and putting lots of pressure on the pliers. im jsut a bit nervous that i break my hair or that they get stuck and i have to cut my hair, can any1 help ?
I just responded to you on Quinn's; this is what I wrote (below). I'm sure someone here will have a few more tips and tricks, however. Good luck! :)
"Removal can be tricky; you need to use a lot of pressure to open the rings and a pair of ridged pliers (the smooth ones won't work well for removal). You may need to have a friend help you remove them in the back, depending on how coordinated you are.
You can keep them in up to three months, replacing any that slip as you go. After three months, you'd probably want to redo them all because they will have grown out a lot at that point. In addition, the paint tends to chip off the rings after awhile, so you'll probably want to use new rings; the hair can be reused as many times as you want, as long as it's in good condition."
kristy I think it is just a matter of getting used to doing it. You'll get the hang of it once you figure out the amount of pressure you need to apply, how to get the right grip on them, etc... One thing I have learned is that you have to apply alot of pressure to get that initial 'give' in the ring but as soon as you feel it give, let up on the pressure or you can clamp them right back shut, and even folding over on itself and mangle the ring, making it more difficult to get back open again! I have yet to use the tube opener, they look like a good tool for the job and I hear they are on sale at hisandher. It may be a wise investment for $12
Do u have the right tools? I would think that it is pretty hard to do yourself. Maybe you shpould have somebody else take them out. When I tried it for the first time I had no problem. Like I said try on someone else..
