Hi All:

I have a friend that just told me that he /she is going to have a sex change operation. He will become a she. She asked me to help her get hair extentions. I know nothing about them. Her hair is already grow out to her chin.

Can anyone tell me about them? I never looked into them before and do not know anyone "I think", that has them.

Thanks Susan

Hi Susan,

Welcome! Here are a few threads you might find helpful:

http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB_AP934431446&id=2633
http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB_AP934431446&id=2549

As you'll notice from these threads, there are a variety of extensions techniques, approaches, and types of hair you can use. Which one will be most suitable for your friend will depend on what her hair is like (texture, volume, color, length, fine/coarse, thin/thick), the look she wants to achieve (photos are helpful), whether she wants to do it herself or at a salon, and what her priorities are (in terms of cost, visibility, versatility, damage, etc.).

It's probably best to read through the material first, so you have a basic working knowledge of the various methods, then jump in with your questions and ideas.

Good luck! :)
