I had them in for approximately three years altogether, I just kept having then either moved up or I'd remove them myself and next time I went in she'd put me them back in, the only con was that when I usually went back in say after two months I'd probably have another 1oz of hair put in because I was feeling because of the shedding that mine was getting thinner so basically you have to keep paying out, if not for the shedding I think the hair was ok, not as good as the bohyme though, I'm so glad I've found that now xx
Hi there, I had raccoon extensions for approximately three years, I tried the asian hair version and the european version. I hated the european, it was ok but when you went nightclubbing the humid atmosphere made the european hair go really frizzy and horrible so I only tried that once. The asian hair is ok but it does shed crazy, we're talking nearly a full hairbrush full each time you brush it and it tangles underneath but not really really bad, you can get them out. I was very niave when I had them done and didn't know a great deal about extensions but they were ok I suppose. I think its because they use a glue gun that it sheds so much xxxx

Hi. A friend of mine recently had Raccoon extensions applied, which the salon told her was "virgin hair." She quite liked the look of them when they were applied, but a few days later started experiencing excessive shedding, like handfuls after washing and more hair periodically throughout the day. She's not sure if it's her own hair or the extensions (sounds like the extensions to me, though), and the hair is tangling a lot, too.
I don't have any firsthand experience with Raccoon, but I know it's a strand-by-strand fusion method (I believe they're used often in the U.K. and Australia, but not so much in the U.S.). As such, I'm not sure whether the extensions strands were pretipped with glue or used with a separate hotpot or glue gun. Either way, the shedding she's describing sounds excessive.
Does anyone have experience with the Raccoon method? Can anyone provide some insight as to what's going on here?
My friend was told the extensions would last for 8 weeks or so, but she's concerned, with this much shedding, that they won't make it that long.
