Hi all, I am very interested in all the hair extension info on this great site. You all seem to be very helpful and polite.
What I would like to know is what is your preferred hair extension method/technique?
I know some of you are clients and some of you stylists/hair extensionists, and feel this may give a good insight into experiences from both wearing and applying extensions.
Synth with pinchbraids for hair 6" or longer, or human hair microring weave (rings sewn on the weft) for hair shorter than that. I like how rings can hold on to hair as short as one inch.
My favorite is human hair weft extensions. My second favorite is pinchbraids. I'm a hairdresser in Hawaii... I said I wouldn't advertise on this board, so this isn't an advertisement. Havnt found my favorite yet. I got my shrinkies in the mail today and will be trying them out this weekend if my hair comes in on Wednesday like its supposed to and I get it tipped.

As far as the non-damaging aspect, I always liked sewn in wefts but they didn't natural unless my hair was the same length. Otherwise: mullet. I'm doing intense shrinkies right now. Took out all the previous ones and reinstalled last night and today. So far only a few have come out - I cut the tips much shorter so they didn't stick out the top of the shrinkie and that helped. So did cooking them a bit longer - after the sizzling sound stops. But I have to say that when removing the shrinkie, it ALWAYS pulls out some of my hair. Always. Microrings didn't do that, but the size is so small it's a pain in the neck to make tips to fit. So it's a dilemma. I want to like shrinkies, but i'm only having moderate success. They look good in my hair, that's for sure.
