Here is a picture of the way to make a track with the micro links. I do this method whenever I have a client who wants to wear wefted extensions. Sorry the picture isn't so great. If anyone is interested, I get a better, more clear picture.

That's awesome, Metalgirl. Is that synth hair running across the track, or the client's real hair?

Do you just use standard extentubes for that, or the MB Shrinks?

shouldnt hurt at all, wouldnt be any different than using micro rings for loose. She is just using some microrings and making a track instead of a cornrow track to sew the wefts onto ( Am I understanding this right?) Shouldnt be any heavier than ringed wefts or a full head of ringed individual strands!

Ok I see the hair -x's-, you apply the micro links to the hair then sew the weft to the microlinks? How does this differ from Dr Locks micro weft tutorial, other than kinda going backwards? I must be really tired cause I cant wrap my head around this one.

Huh. So you do the rings first, then sew the track on?

I used a similar method last week on my sisters hair, I pulled 2 - 3 strand of her hair through the weft and pull them through a shrinkie! So far it's lasted really well and it feels alot lighter than doing tracks across her head.

Are you able to put your hair up or in a ponytail with the wefts? I think this looks like a cool thing to try. Thanks!

This method is similar to the Dr. locks tutorial, but you are not sewing the rings onto the weft. It's pretty much of the same idea though.

You thread the rings onto the hair first to make a track, and then you sew the weft on.

I don't think it's any more painful than any other wefted method. It's tight for the first few days, but it loosens up.

I use the Dr. locks rings to do the job.

You take a ring and pull the natural hair through it, and then in that same ring, you pull more natural hair through it from the opposite direction, so the hair are criss crossed in the ring. Then you move the ring down close to the scalp and crimp it.

I sometimes thread synthetic hair though the rings too because that helps prevent slippage.

Bridget- in metalgirl's method, I think you sew the weft the track formed by the hair- not to the rings. It's the Doc Locks method (the one I sue) where you sew the rings on beforehand. Metalgirl does it more like the cornrow-and-sew method, where you make a track and then sew a weft to it, except she makes the track with rings and not braiding.

Pull the hair THROUGH the weft and then through a shrinkies? OYYYY Im so confused.

Ok I think I have the micro rings on first idea, then where do you sew the weft? Do you tack it to each micro ring? I had maybe a dozen micro rings left so I tried this on my wig but I just dont see where to sew the weft too. Sorry for being so dense about this.
