and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it, this is the longest, fullest wig I have ever had. Its so versatile, I can braid it, wear it in a low pony, take the sides and pin them back. Its alot of fun.
Jenny, its 31" long and I was taking pictures with the timer..lol..Ill try to get hubby to get better pics.
Bridget: Oh yeah, Ive already thought of that LOL much to my husbands chagrine...
Kristin: No its synthetic, I thought it was kanekalon but the tag on it says Modacrylic fiber, its very silky soft, dosnt tangle, even tho its so long. I asked a friend of mine if it had a Barbie hair shine and she said no it just looks like clean healthy hair.
Metagirl: I got this one from HairMeNow on Ebay, Ive bought from them before, but this wig outdoes the rest.
Wow that's an awesome color combo. Love the length and the way it falls, too.
I bought one that's about bra line in length and it's a firefox or copper in #130. Looks great from the back and sides but the front just screams WIG! I've never worn one before so I'm a little freaked at the front. Looks good coming out under a hat though. My extensions are way too big to fit under it.
So, what's the secret in getting a wig to look more natural?
I totally agree with SAS, to make wigs look real, you need to texturize them with either a thinning shear or a razor. No scissor cuts, blunt cuts look terrible on wigs or extensions.
Most hair pieces come with way too much hair on them, so they need to be thinned out. You can do this by going into it with your thinning shear (just the first few teeth), go all the way down to the wig cap and cut some of the hair out. You need to have the thinning shear all the way down to the wig cap, because you want to eliminate that hair totally. You will have little short hairs that will poke out if you don't go down to the cap. Does that make sense?
Hmm. I'll have to post a photo of it off Emma's thread and you can give me some advice on it. The hair itself is layered beautifully. There's just no lift on top and it lays flat against the top of my head. I'm used to height. Anyway, I'll post a pic of it this week when I'm off my 12-hour work stretch.
I always always buy wigs with bangs, they look more natural. The only thing Ive ever cut on my wigs is the bangs, they always come long, down to my chin and I trim them up to just under my eyebrows. Other than that, I dont cut them unless the very ends start getting ratty, then I trim just the very ends off. I spend hours and hours searching for wigs and get one with a style that I like so I dont have to cut it.
There is no one in my town that has experience cutting wigs, and since wig hair dosnt grow..lol..Im not willing to let someone whack away at it.

That wig is gorgeous. I am too thinking of trying the whole wig thing to give my hair a break...and I figure there will be much less maintanance than there is with extensions. I like the idea of washing my hair, tying it up then popping a wig on and leaving the house looking like you have spent ages doing your hair!. I'm looking for a really long human hair wig, i'm in the UK...any ideas?
xx
It doesn't have to be natural to be fabulous!!!/

That wig is beautiful, it is the style that I try to achieve with extensions, and the exact color too! Is it comfortable to wear? Do you use clips or is it secure on its own?
I just love the style and the color and I wish my hair would stay that way. Hmmm, thinking about a wig here How does the wig look in person? Does it tangle alot and is the hair soft? I have to show my sister that site because she has a problem with too much of a male hormone and is kind of getting male pattern baldness on the top of her head. I think she will be very excited about how beautiful those wigs look.
People at school are used to me turning up with extensions, without extensions, different colors of hair, different wigs, etc...
Today is the first time anyone there saw this one and everyone thought it was extensions. One teacher even thought that the hair on top was mine and the rest extensions and I said "Nope its all fake" lol she couldnt believe it. She said this is her favorite one yet and its certainly mine.
Im shocked at how soft and thick and full it is. And it dosnt tangle at all, even tho its 31" long. Today was a particularly windy day and it did great.
This wig has a pair of elastic adjusters on the back to make it smaller, I wear a wig cap and set the adjusters on the second loops and it fits snug. Of course Ive been wearing wigs for a long time now so Im used to them. At first they can be kind of itchy until you get used to them. I love the time it saves me in the morning.
WHY OH WHY cant I find extension hair like wig hair? Im so seriously considering cutting the wig hair off and making tips out of it and applying with micro rings.

Emma~I think you definitely bought one of their prettiest wigs. The colors are too dark for me, but I went through their site last night and tracked 5 that I liked. I love the "Showgirl Wig", 5 tone, layered, gingerish look. It's HOT!!
Kalika~Have you seen the Showgirl Wigs? They are perfect for your dancing!! I still love the Mo Hawk on you!!
