QuoteReplyTopic: Jeanette Jones - Shorter & Shorter Posted: January 31 2000 at 7:51am
I saw Jeanette on the Weather Channel yesterday and she has cut her hair even shorter. For aprox. 10 years her once near waist length hair has been getting shorter and shorter an is now a classic news woman style. Look great! Hal
It seems to be kind of a mixed blessing. Yes, it looks good on her, but now if you just catch a quick glimpse of her, she's easily mistaken for, well, almost every other female weather anchor on the channel.
Even so, I will have to say it looks better than when she first got it cut to her shoulders, because it has more height on top to balance out the roundness of her face.

Over the course of the past 10 years, Jeanetta Jones' hair has been reduced to rubble. It used to be healthy, and full (and long) -- really beautiful. Now, it's entirely unappealing, and it emphasizes certain facial features in a less-than-flattering way. She used to be distinctively beautiful, but now she blends into the crowd.
Believe it or not Dave, I'm agreeing with you. I liked her hair long too, she just needed some styling help. Now, though the style isn't unflattering, it's just painfully bland.

Speaking of weather ladies, whatever happened to Valerie Voss? She bleached her hair and then she disappeared! Ted Turner must not have liked her new do!!

Not meant to insult you dave, but it is a fact that on the old message board, when people like paul or bret or myself always stated our preference for short hair, we were lambasted by all the long hair fans. Just trying to state that we all have preferences. If us short hair fans stated that we didn't like (celebrity) who was growing their hair out, we would be criticized for our tastes. No, they do not gain wisdom by cutting their hair, just the appreciation of the short hair lovers.

Well, not all long-hair fans lambast short-hair fans! My only gripe with "Bret" (which I clearly expressed on the board at the time) was his dishonesty regarding his use of multiple names.
Yes, different people have different tastes, and I respect the rights of others to their opinions, even if they contrast with mine. But from your original post in this thread, it appeared that you did not respect the right of several others to have stated their opinions which contrasted with yours.
Surely, as a lover of short hair, you must be in ecstacy when you turn to the Weather Channel, or any of a number of other news show, where short-haired women abound (and long hair is very rare -- all the more so since Jeanetta Jones has gone short).
I do agree with you about Bret. He should stick to one name! I respect your preference as much as everyone elses. You're right, I do love it now that everywhere you turn on t.v., there are short haired women. Sorry for your loss, and my gain. Peace to ya!
