She`s 26 and Germany`s hottest actress. Her partner, 35 year old Tom Tykwer, directed "Run Baby Run" in which she played young punk rocker. Her latest film is the cocaine trade epic "Blow" with Johnny Depp. Franka is somewhat overshadowed by Penelope Cruz and although she has pale reddish hair in the movie, it is naturally brown. Of the new radical haircut, sadly, I know nothing.

Asked why did she choose the bald look she explained: "I wanted to try something new, every woman has to shave her head at least once in her lifetime". But there are also rumours that she cut her hair off for a new role in the movie. Her husband`s comment is: "I like her bald head. Recently she suprised me with a new haircolor every week, now it`s over.
You americans are so self-centered! Why do we have to support these "who?" thing every time we talk about a french or a german celebritie? There`s also a lot of women you talk about that I never heard before. We don`t need to be unpolite.
Of course we`re rude, we`re Americans! Like duh, you know?. Who`s Frittata Polenta? Who cares, Americans breed actresses like the incomparable Meg Ryan. "Hanging Up," boy what a scream, a movie about cell phones. Americans adoooooooooooore movies about cell phones. We`re #1! Where are you from? You`re not #1.

Big brown fudge w/ chunks of corn (self-billed) calling ME an idiot. Rich. He`s not #1.

Hey if you`ll remember we had to win WWII to be comfortable in our self centered ignorance. Otherwise we`d all know Franka Potente, although then I doubt that she`d have been in as hip and American-like (where are European precedents) a film as "Run Lola Run." Adolf liked more linear films.
Sorry, I wasn`t even there at the time, but my father told me that the Germans provided absolutely no help in shortening the duration of WWII. Now how do you like being stereotyped. Do you really think that all Americans are the goofy newbies you see on the Internet message boards. As far as my self centered ignorance goes, I have more than enough, but you haven`t seen it displayed here yet. Don`t blame Americans for English being the language of the Internet. It was forced on us by those Brit "limeys." And as far as arrogance goes. I`m sure that is an obnoxious American trait, one that we share with Germans.

OK, no offense to anyone, but what does any of this have to do with hair? Let us learn from history and apply it to the present. Plus, I think fashion breaks down the cultural walls.
