The Whole On My Head

I have medium to short length hair, and it is slightly wavy. One day I had this really important date with this gorgous guy, I wanted to straighten it, and I couldn't find my curling iron...Stupid me I decided to use our everyday IRON, I thought I could do this with out damaging my body. I let it heat up for about 15 minutes and then decided to begin. Suddenly I started to smell something funny, a huge chunk of my hair fell to the ground, the iron was way to hot and too close to my skull, and left a nasty burned/bald spot on my head. Now because of the scar wounds hair will not grow in this place. It is about the size of palm of your hand on the side of my head, FOREVER. Obviously I didn't make my date...What should I do, I really don't want a wig...HELP ME PLEASE!!!
