Okay, here is my situation. My hair is pretty short, above shoulder length, the color is naturally medium to darkish brown, and I usually get it highlighted at the salon. I get a partial weave of 3 colors, a dark blonde, lighter blonde, and a light light wheatish blonde, the effect is very pretty. Unfortunately my hairdresser is 2 hours away and very expensive, I`m currently pretty broke and haven`t gotten my hair colored in quite a while (the last time was the end of September!) Needless to say, my roots are about 4 inches long and look terrible. I am going to a fancy New Year`s Eve party and don`t want my hair looking like this. I thought of going to a local salon, but I really don`t want to take the chance on a colorist I don`t know messing me up really bad. So....any drugstore remedy I can do for this until I can get to my salon (next month!)? I thought maybe a color depositing shampoo, or something...I just want something non-permanent to help the blonde blend in with the roots a bit better until I can get to my colorist. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!!
you could try a drug store hair color. read the box find the one that is least damaging and permanent, and you could try giving your self a self highlight, I would suggest getting something real close to the color your hair is just past the roots, if you go to light it will look stupid. Good luck, and Happy New Year!!!!!

Callie, I wouldn`t go with a Self-HiLiter. You might want to go back to your original color (store bought ), Only because, if you hi-lite over what is already blond, it will turn out LIGHTER and may turn to Cotton or Break-Off. Something like this you should leave to a pro.
