I naturally have really dark hair that I bleach to a orange-yellow sort of blonde...not that gross orange-blonde that your hair turns by accident but...well it`s a number of different shades of blonde all mixed together usually. For new years eve I wanted to dye it blue so I bleached it as light yellow as I could get it.

I dyed it blue using Fudge dye and the dye didn`t stick very well. It ended up being a mixture of pale yellow, white, and light blue. Within a couple days the light blue areas had turned a light green colour.

In an attempt to get back into work mode I dyed it blue-black using a permanent dye This faded really really quickly and I soon had a weird green colour. I dyed it blue-black again figuring that if I layered another application on it, it should be alright.

Now it looks as though it`s not going to fade anymore but it`s not a very rich black. It`s a very pale black and in some light it looks like a pale forest green or even a dark grey.

I really prefer to have blonde hair, infact my self-image when I have dark hair is pretty ******ty because I`ve got really pale skin and grey/paleblue eyes and I just look sickly when I have dark hair (I know, pale with dark hair can be good sometimes, but I don`t look goth, trust me, I just look ill). So I want to get blonde again as soon as I can.

Is it possible for a professional to get this dye out of my hair and turn me blonde again? Or am I going to have to let it grow in and cut the dyed part out? My hair grows really really fast and I keep my hair fairly short so I could probly do this in about 6 months easily...but I don`t know if I can stand having dark hair for that long

Someone recently told me that if I had put red and then black that it probably wouldn`t have faded like it has but at this point, I`ve got almost 1/2 inch of natural coloured roots and I don`t want to put off going blonde again any longer than I have to so I don`t want to put anymore dye in it.

Any ideas?

(oh and if you`re interested...this was before I put the black dye over it and you can sort of see it`s half blue half green: http://www.the-space-lab.com/NYE.jpg )

This postings a bit late, so you might already have got it sorted, but anyway - I did a similar thing; I`d been colouring my hair red, pink etc for years then reverting to bleach blonde, then I did it purple again [on top of bleach, dye and henna!] but regretted it cos I felt better as a blonde. I managed, eventually, to find a `Dye reducer` product which did the trick, fantastic stuff, but it depends what type of dye you`ve used? - Tho` I`m sure a professional could fix it, they have access to way better products than we do.
