QuoteReplyTopic: Streaked Curly Hair??? Posted: October 20 2000 at 12:31am
Does this look good on short layered curly hair? I have black curly hair down to my neck rite now n im thinkin bout streakin it a lite brown kinda like highlites...or should i just dye it completely lite brown? any suggestions? pics would help a great deal... please e-mail me THANKS!
streaks sound like they would be very cute. also another suggestion I was thinking of is if your hair is already black Socolr has in their netrual series #1 black has a blue base to it so when you were out in the sun or under some lights it would look very pretty and unique. I've seen t before on a girl at a hair show and it was beautiful

It seems as though everybody is going with hilighting these days. It is a very good look and if you stary within two levels of your naturl level it looks like the sun lightened it. If your hair is black and you lighten it too much it will probably make you look older and make your skin color sallow. Think about trying hilights and then if you really like light brown hair go for the full tint. Good luck.
I know exactly what you mean. I've gone through the dilemma myself. I have short curly hair and I've just lightened it all over about 2 shades. I want to get about four blonde highlights at the front just to break up the colour. The only thing is I have to keep lightening my eyebrows. hee hee. I like the all over black too, but like the previous person I'd recommend a blue black or violet black. If you were going to get streaks I'd ask the salon to do highlight chunks instead of little wisps of hair. With curly hair it ends up looking like a bad dye job. But with the chunks it stands out. Good luck.
