My problem with chemical straightening is that its expensive and it washes out. I had that yuko system-thing done and it was very expensive. The good thing about it is that my hair did stay straight(relativly) It has since curled a little. It did take out some of the volume and puffiness but not enough, I`m still looking for that perfect product that will make my hair thinner and smoother. On a side note: has any one tried the John Frieda frizz products like "wind down"?
Chemical straighteners: I`ve had great success with `Straight Talk` by Vavoom. It causes little to no damage and it lasts like a perm would (I have it re-touched every couple months). I do not like John Frieda`s products....period. I currently use a serum called `The Professional Frizz Solution` that I pick up at Sally`s Beauty Supply....it works!
I chemically straighten my hair. Your hair will not be stick straight but will lie smoother and be easier to manage. It will also be easier to blow dry them straight if you want the look.
When your hair starts to behave or look like it did before you relaxed (usually 4-8 weeks) it is time to retouch the roots (new growth only)

Yuko, thermal straighter is for wavy hair (African Amercan and white) not excessively curly hair. It`s chemical base is ammonium thioglycolate, this is the chemical used in jeri curls and will not suffiently remove the curl in excessively curly hair. After straighnening your hair with product you must avoid using Relaxers with a chemical base of sodium hydroxide(lye). This may result in extreme hair damage.
