Yes, I`ve had it done- they usually use thinning shears, which are scissors with a full blade on one side and a sort of comb-like blade on the other so that only some of the hair is cut when you use them. I have my own pair and sometimes I use them on the last couple inches of my hair when they get too big & frizzy. I just kinda cut it where it looks too thick, but the stylists know a lot more than me. Hope it turns out good (let us know). GoodLuck! Love, Ingrid

I have short, curly hair and I always have mine thinned out whenever I get a cut. It works wonders for me. It takes the thickness out of my hair and makes my style look so much better. I really recommend it for really thick hair especially short hair which tends to balloon out of control. I always feel like I have lost 10 pounds after I get this done to may hair.
In regards to straightening! I have been doing my own hair on and off for the past 16 years. If your hair is in good condition you can do this yourself. It is very staright forward and easy to do. Send me email off the list and I can give you more details. mmcghee@ergpa.org
hey!! i got my hair thinned down and it looks great it`s so much easier to handle and i don`t have to spend so much time doing my hair every morning for school it still is wavy just thinner and nicer looking i would really recommend this to anyone who has really thick hair. thanx for everyones replies!!
