Hi -
My stepdaughter wants to be betty boop for halloween and she has shoulder-length hair. Does anyone have any tips for putting her hair in tight curls that wont fall out - to make her look like betty boop?
Thanks!

I'm dressing as Betty for Halloween too!

A couple years ago I dressed a friend as Betty who had shoulder length hair. I rolled her hair in rags, and she had the cutest ringlets I've ever seen. I know that Betty has spit curls, but I'm sure ringlets would work for your girl.

To start, cut some lengths of cloth that are at least 5" by 2". Then take small sections of wet hair and place the end in the center of one piece of cloth. Fold the cloth in half so that the hair is sandwiched (so that you have 5" by 1"). Then roll the hair around the cloth until you get close to the head. Then tie the long ends together. She should sleep on it or wear it all day before you take the cloth out.

I have a short bob with bangs. I realized when shopping for wigs that it looks like a flapper do already. I'm using a 3-barrel curling iron to give myself a marcel like do.
