Forget the perm its too all or nothing. Set your hair on rollers, that way you can experiment with the style and it only lasts to the next shampoo. So how to make curly. Shampoo your hair and make sure all conditioner is well rinsed out. Towel dry. Comb through a fixing spray from roots to ends. Roll sections of your hair onto rollers (the size of the roller will impact on the amount of curl) small and tightly wound will give you lots of curl, large will produce waves and body. My advice dont use velcro rollers they are easy to put in and stay in well but are a nightmare to take out partcularly if its a DIY curl. Allow your hair to dry completely. Naturally is best but take a long time particulary if your ahir is long and tightly wound on the rollers. So get a soft hood dry which you can attach to end of hand hair dryer. Drying will take about 30 mins. Let you hair cool right off when dry before taking the rollers out and finger tease or brush each curl. Finsih with a good hair spray. There are so many styles you can make this way (spiral to waves) all depends on rollers winding. Let me know hair length and style and can be more specific.

You can always use a mousse to with the rollers but I think you'll need these to give the hair the style - but mousse will help give it the lift and body
