For anyone looking for an easy but glitzy partial do for a New Year`s Eve party here is what I did for my Christmas party.

I have mid-bra length straight hair. I washed it and blow dried it upside down to get a lot of fullness. One dry I left one 2 inch strand on either side of my bangs and then I brushed all of the remaining hair into a high ponytail. I took 1 strand from either side of the ponytail and pinned it to the side. I made the ponytail and wrapped it with a same color elastic band. Then I did a standard 3 strand braid with the hair on either side of the ponytail. I tied sparkly silver ribbon to the top of each strands and braided the ribbon into the 3 strand. I took each finished braid and wrapped them around the top of my ponytail to give it a braided scrunchi look.

I made tiny 3 strand braids in the front by my bangs and braided silver ribbon there as well. I finished off with a dab of silver sparkle hair gel and applied to my ponytail length and around my bangs. It all looked great with my silver top and black velvet skirt. I got a lot of compliments and it was super easy to do. Try it if you have medium to long hair and want something easy you can do at home.

Enjoy.

Thank you Cindy. That is a great idea for an easy style. I tried it right after I saw your post and it is very easy to do. I am going to experiment with different ribbons & may even use tinsel interwoven in the braids to get a super shiny look.

Where can you buy the ribbons to do this?

You can get them at basically any where. A craft shop, or grocery store. Just about anywhere. Just go to your craft isle and they would be there. The best place to find them though, would be a fabric shop or a craft shop.
