I'm having trouble getting my hair to lay all the way down. It's been about 2 weeks since a hair cut, and I keep my hair at like a #2 level haircut. I'm trying to wait 4 weeks to get deeper wave patterns. But my hair curls up when I put the DAX in, it don't lay it all the way down or if I just pack lots of pomade in then it will lay down somewhat but it looks white and dry. I was wondering does gel hold your hair down better than the pomades do?

You should try a thicker pomade. I suggest Murray's orange can or Murray's yellow can...Nu Nile.

Murray's and Nu Nile are very similar. The Murray's site says that they are of the same thickness. Your choice.

When it's curled and you get it to lay down, just durag it for a while and let it press down

ya when u puttin in ur pomade and u start brushin ur hair should straighten out for a second and curl down and thats a good thing because when u put ur du-rag on the curls should stay down and form a wave. you also might wanna put in more pomade that was my problem i didnt put enough in but dont cake ur hair. i suggest nu nile, bodygaurd ur mistaken dawg on the site murrayz is a level thicker than nu nile u cn feel the difference 2. and WHERE A DURAG WHENEVER U AINT BRUSHIN. holla
waves and not brushin dats a oxymoron
not brushin, u must be a moron

I don't know bout putting more pomade. Most hair products say put a liberate amount. More is not necessarily better. Time to go back to the old quote..."JUST CAUSE YOU DON'T SEE IT, DOESN'T MEAN IT'S NOT THERE"

I guess I just need to put more nu nile in because I bought some and it doesn't hold mine down. Like it works when it's shorter but when it gets longer like it is now it's not holding it down. So should I wash it then put the pomade in and brush it down straight, and then du rag it, until I start the process over again.

ya wash it, moisturize, nu nile it, hot towel, brush it, and u should be straight. i kno when i put mine in when i brush a section of my hair it gets really straight then curls back up thats when u put ur durag on 2 lay down the curls. if that aint workin i'd switch 2 murrays (thickest of them all) bmail me 2 let me kno how it works out

Okay so let me get this straight...

While you are training you are supposed to keep it mosturized and brush. Right? Then once you have waves pomade will bring them out more. Right? So if you're still training your hair using pomade is a waste...right?

Okay I will try it tonight but I don't know how to email people on here. Also should I brush it after I take off the durag or just leave it alone.

i dont think so. i think when u use a pomade it helps to get u waves and hold your hair down so your curls will form to waves and stay down. but pink lotion does help in my opinion.

Hey darunkid do you brush your hair after taking your durag off? I can do that when I have short hair but now that it's longer it frizzes up my waves.
