What is a cold wave and is it for african american hair? I want to do something so I don't have to curl my short hair often.

Hi Michelle-

Cold-Waving (Permanent-Waving), this process is opposite of chemical relaxing. Chemical relaxing takes curl out, and cold-waving puts curl in. Yes, Afro-Americans can use it process, however, it is use to just make a softer curl. Do you remember the Jeri-Curl, well this was a cold-wave process; hair was or is slightly straightend and then given new shape memory using cold-waving solution.
