QuoteReplyTopic: How to care for hair when.... Posted: December 28 2002 at 11:47am
Hello.. I`m new to posting anything on this particular website... I have been coming by and reviewing posts.. My question is... I know african-american hair is supposed to be washed once a week... Now once doing that it starts to get alot of new-growth going on the second week of washing.. How are you able to style hair once this starts happening... What do you recommend me to do until my next retouch?
See things for what they really are not what they appear to be...
Hey, Just replying to your question. I too experience new growth when i wash my hair the second or third week after my relaxer. I`m really not sure what tools you can use. I try to apply as little heat to my hair. I just keep my roots moisterized with Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil hair moisterizer. That way i can still keep my hair soft until my next relaxer. I know I wasn`t able to answer your question to the fullest but hopefully this will get others who are more knowledgeable about post-relaxer care to respond.
:)

Hi i`m new to this board too i wash my hair once a week with that i believe in conditioning the hair so i shampoo my hair 2x sometimes 3x then i use a deep conditioner by st. ives hair repair intensive conditoner it`s bontanical and it tingles your scalp feeling fresh and clean i put a plasic cap on and sit under a dryer for 45 min then i wash it out and apply a condioner that goes with the shampoo that you used . then i use thermal silk conditoner with thermal beads keep that on for 5 min wash out. then i use infusium 23 leave in conditoner proceed to roller set my hair . oil my scalp then wrap my hair. to summerize the key is condiontioning to keep your scalp soft and managable and keep away from thos curling irons.
