do it yourself relaxer

Hello, I was wondering if it was ok to relax my own hair. The hair dresser who usually does it doesn't seem to care if she yanks all the hair out of my head when she combs it out. So now my hair is getting really thin. I would go to another salon but not many people are willing to deal with my thigh length African American hair. So should I give it a try?

I decided to let my Mom do it. I didn't think I would be able to wash it all out and I was scared I was going to burn all my hair off. I'm really obsessed with it. Maybe I'll try to do it myself in the future .
