When I stretched I had no knowledge of hair forums.
I usually just watched what many hairstylist did which is style the hair while wet and put you under a blow dryer. However, I didn't have a blow dryer, so I would wash my hair at night and style it and let it air dry ...usually a bun. Also, If i had my hair in a bun, then if I wanted to use heat I would pin a weft of hair to make a pony tail and style that however i wanted because I was not damaging my own hair.
Other times, I let my hair air dry crinkly. Also I did styles like frech rolls or cornrows to to hide my ends. If I had A Lot of new growth that wouldn't lay down I would 2-strand twist the front and ponytail the back with a weft.
I never really thought about it until now, also I never really cared about new growth either...stretching is what probably made my transition alot easier than if I hadn't.
I get my hair relaxed every 6-8 weeks. I heard if you wait longer, your hair starts to break off at the point on the strand where the straight and curly meet.

Lately I've been able to go 8weeks at the most, but my hair is only ear length and my layering are still growing out. I'm hoping to soon be able to wait 10-12 weeks, but that's a reall stretch.
